Amid the ongoing suspense over the post of Maharashtra CM, the Mahayuti alliance is set to form the government in Maharashtra on December 5, said Maharashtra BJP president Chandrashekhar Bawankule.

He said that, “The oath-taking ceremony of the Mahayuti government, will be held in Mumbai’s Azad Maidaan, in the presence of PM Narendra Modi, on 5 December 2024.”
As per reports Devendra Fadnavis is in front-runner for the post of Maharashtra CM. The result of the election was out on November 23, 2024.
Recently Shiv Sena’s Eknath Shinde, NCP Chief Ajit Pawar and BJP leader Devendra Fadnavis had meeting with the BJP National President & Union Minister JP Nadda and Union Home Minister Amit Shah in Delhi.
Meeting of Mahayuti planned on Friday got postponed and is now expected to happen on Sunday, as per media reports. The plan changed as Maharashtra caretaker CM Eknath Shinde heads towards his native place, Satara.
Devendra Fadnavis has served as Maharashtra CM twice and handled the post of Deputy CM in the previous government in Maharashtra.
As per the result of Maharashtra election, Mahayuti alliance is set to return to power on December 5, 2024. Out of 288 seats, Mahayuti alliance has won 230 seats which includes- BJP’s 132 seats, Eknath Shinde-Shiv Sena’s 57 seats and NCP-Ajit Pawar’s 41 seats. On the other end Maha Vikas Aghadi failed to get the majority in the election. Maha Vikas Aghadi got only 46 seats which include- Shiv Sena (UBT) with 20 seats, Congress with 16 seats and NCP-Sharad Pawar with 10 seats.
