Both Maharashtra and Jharkhand faced polling on Wednesday. The counting of votes for both the states, Maharashtra and Jharkhand will be done tomorrow, that is Saturday, November 23.
In Maharashtra the polling went in single phase. The polling in Maharashtra was for all 288 constituencies in one phase. While polling in Jharkhand went in two phases, first phase saw polling on 13th November 2024 and the second phase polling was on Wednesday, November 20, 2024.
Maharashtra Election
As per majority of Exit Polls NDA is having a clear majority in Maharashtra. The Mahayuti is expected to form the government in Maharashtra. But a neck to neck fight will be seen in Maharashtra. In Maharashtra the contest is between the Mahayuti and MVA. Under the umbrella of Mahayuti come the following parties-BJP, NCP-Ajit Pawar, Eknath Shinde’s Shiv Sena. On the other end there is Maha Vikas Aghadi commonly known as MVA, which consists of Shiv Sena (UBT), Congress and the NCP-Sharad Pawar.
The voting percentage in Maharashtra came out to be 65% which is the hight since the year 1995.
Jharkhand Election
In Jharkhand the Exit Polls suggest a win for BJP-led NDA. Here voting held in two phases-first phase was on November 13 and second on November 20. Here the contest is between the INDIA bloc and the NDA. Voting percentage in Jharkhand came out to be 67.59 % in its last phase.
Date And Timing For The Announcement Of Results
According to Election Commission of India, the result for both Maharashtra and Jharkhand will be announced on November 23, 2024. The counting of votes will begin at 8 am.
