Maharashtra: Half Dozen Worker Killed In High Rise As Lift Collapses

The unfortunate accident occurred when the lift's rope snapped while workers were descending upon completing their task.

Six workers lost their lives in a tragic incident at the Runwal Aireen building in Balkum, Thane, as a lift plunged from the 40-storey structure around 6 pm on Sunday. Additionally, two workers sustained serious injuries and were promptly hospitalized.

As news of the incident surfaced, both the police and fire brigade personnel swiftly arrived at the scene, with an ongoing investigation by the police.

Preliminary reports indicate that waterproofing work was being conducted on the roof of the recently finished 40-storey Runwal Ireen building, located near Narayani School in Balkum.
