Who will be the next Maharashtra Chief Minister? is a question that has been lingering since the election results were declared on November 23. It was anticipated that the CM’s name would be announced after a key meeting between Maharashtra caretaker CM Eknath Shinde, BJP leader Devendra Fadnavis, NCP leader Ajit Pawar, and Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Thursday.
The three leaders had arrived in Delhi to hold a crucial meeting with Union Home Minister Amit Shah. They gathered to deliberate on the formation of the new government in Maharashtra. The leaders met yesterday, but no official announcement was made regarding the name of the next Maharashtra CM; hence, the suspense continues.
Shinde Says ‘Good And Positive’ Meeting
However, talking to reporters after the meeting with Union Minister Amit Shah and BJP President JP Nadda, Eknath Shinde described the meeting as “good and positive.” He added that another meeting would be held, which is expected to decide who will assume the role of Chief Minister.
Shinde said, “The meeting was good and positive. This was the first meeting. We had a discussion with Amit Shah and JP Nadda. There will be another meeting of the Mahayuti. In this meeting, a decision will be taken about who will be the Chief Minister.”
He hinted that the meeting to finalise the CM will be held in Mumbai.
Earlier, Shinde had assured that there were no obstacles regarding the Chief Minister’s post and that “Ladla Bhai” is a title that holds more significance for him than anything else.

Devendra Fadnavis Expresses Gratitude To Amit Shah
Former Maharashtra Deputy CM and BJP leader Devendra Fadnavis had also cleared that the Mahayuti had no internal differences and that a decision on the Chief Minister would be made soon after consulting the leaders.
Fadnavis posted about the meeting with top BJP leadership on X and wrote, “Expressed my gratitude to Hon Union Minister Shri Amitbhai Shah, for his huge support on the battlefield during the important Maharashtra Vidhan Sabha Elections 2024 and for the way he greatly inspired and motivated the karykartas. On this occasion, our BJP National President JP Nadda ji, Eknath Shinde ji, Ajitdada Pawar, #MahaYuti leaders, colleagues were present too, in New Delhi.”
