In a recent rally in Akola, Maharashtra Congress Chief Nana Patole stirred controversy by comparing the BJP to a dog, stating that the party should be “shown its place” for its alleged mistreatment of the OBC community. Patole, addressing the crowd, criticized the BJP for bringing down the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) government and directly targeted former Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, accusing him of considering himself “God.”

Patole further questioned, “Will the OBC people of Akola district vote for the BJP who are calling you dogs? It is time to make the BJP a dog now.” He added that it was time to remove the BJP from Maharashtra, calling the party’s rise to power a result of “a bundle of lies.”

BJP’s Response to Patole’s Statements

In response, BJP leader and former MP Kirit Somaiya criticized Nana Patole’s remarks, saying that such comments reflect the MVA’s frustration. “They are calling BJP people dogs now. They can see defeat and hence are giving these speeches in despair,” Somaiya stated.

Heated Political Tensions Ahead of Maharashtra Polls

The exchange is part of an increasingly tense lead-up to the November 20 Maharashtra polls, with both major alliances, Mahayuti and MVA, preparing for a competitive battle. Earlier in the month, Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Arvind Sawant faced backlash for referring to Shiv Sena leader Shaina NC as “imported maal” following her defection from the BJP to the Eknath Shinde-led Sena. Sawant later apologized after the comment sparked public outrage and a formal complaint from Shaina NC.

Name-Calling and Accusations Escalate Amid Election Preparations

As the elections approach, the tone between parties has become more aggressive, with accusations and name-calling highlighting the political tension in Maharashtra. Both alliances appear to be rallying supporters with strong language and direct attacks on opposing party members.
