Maharashtra BJP Chief’s Son Flees After Hitting Multiple Cars With His Audi In Nagpur, Driver Arrested

A high-end car belonging to Sanket Bawankule, son of Maharashtra BJP chief met with an accident in Nagpur's Ramdaspeth area on Monday morning.

Maharashtra BJP Chief Son’s Audi Hits Vehicles: A luxury car belonging to Sanket Bawankule, son of Maharashtra BJP chief Chandrashekhar Bawankule met with an accident in Nagpur’s Ramdaspeth area on Monday morning, colliding with several vehicles. The driver along with another passenger was arrested after the incident.

When the incident occurred, the car carried five people, of which three, including Sanket Bawankule, fled after the accident. Sources said that they were returning from a beer bar. Blood samples of the driver and the arrested occupant were sent for testing.

Maharashtra BJP Cheif Son’s Audi Hits Multiple Vehicles

At 1 am, the Audi first hit Jitendra Sonkamble’s car and subsequently rammed into a vehicle running on the opposite side, injuring two young riders.

“The Audi hit several more vehicles on its way towards Mankapur. It rammed into the Polo car at T-Point. The occupants of the Polo chased the Audi and stopped it near Mankapur bridge. Three occupants, including Sanket Bawankule, fled from there,” an officer of Sitabuldi police station told Press Trust of India.

“The occupants of the car, Arjun Hawre, and another person, Ronit Chittamwar, were intercepted by the people traveling in the Polo car. After which, they were taken to Tehsil police station and later handed over to the Sitabuldi police for further investigation,” he said.

Rash Driving Case Filed; BJP Chief Calls For Fair Investigation

“A case of rash driving and other offenses were registered following a complaint by Mr. Sonkamble. Arjun Hawre and Ronit Chittamwar were later released on bail. Investigation is underway,” the Sitabuldi police officer said.

Maharashtra BJP chief Chandrashekhar Bawankule told reporters that the Audi car which was part of the accident is registered in the name of his son Sanket.

“The police should conduct a proper and impartial investigation into the accident. The guilty should be booked and taken to task accordingly. I have not spoken to any police officer in this connection. All are equal before the law,” he said.
