Maharashtra: Union Minister Raksha Khadse on Sunday alleged that her daughter was harassed by some miscreants during a fair in Maharashtra’s Jalgaon district. While speaking to media today morning, Rakhsa said that Sant Muktai Yatra occur every year in Muktainagar area on the occasion of Mahashivratri. Two days ago, my daughter went to attend the fair where some youth harassed her, she added. She further informed that she has filed a police complaint regarding the incident.
Meanwhile, Raksha’s father-in-law and Former Minister Eknath Khadse told reporters, “The police have already received complaints regarding the accused youths in the past. He alleged that the youths are hardcore criminals and crime against women has surged in Maharashtra. Khadse added that many girls do not come forward to file complaints but we did as we had no option left.
“I have spoken to the DSP and IG regarding this matter. When we arrived at the police station, we were made to wait for two hours. We were told by the police to rethink about the issue as it is associated with girls. The youths have beaten up by the police. Imagine to what extent they can go up to as these people have political protection,” Eknath Khadse said.
According to reports, one of the accused has been arrested, while the search for the remaining six suspects are underway. A case has been filed under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, Molestation, and IT Act, SP Jalgaon said.
On the incident, State President of the Nationalist Congress Party (Sharad Pawar) faction Rohini Khadse asked, “If a case like the molestation of a Union Minister’s daughter can take place in Maharashtra, how will ladies and girls from ordinary families get justice?”
