Palghar: In a shocking incident, two men were arrested for allegedly raping a teenage girl on Friday. The incident has been reported from Palghar district of Maharashtra. The 16-year-old girl was repeatedly raped by her brother and uncle, who even forced her to undergo an abortion.
What Did Police Reveal?
The Mira-Bhayandar, Vasai-Virar police acting on the complaint arrested her uncle and 18-year-old brother. According to police, the girl on her complaint mentioned that she was sexually assaulted several times by her brother and uncle between October and December 2024. After she got pregnant, she was taken to a medical facility at Grant Road in Mumbai for an abortion by her uncle.
The official stated that the accused have been booked for rape, causing miscarriage without woman’s consent under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
In another incident reported from Mumbai, a 19-year-old girl was raped by a 22-year-old man in December last year. The accused, identified as Chand Khan, from Mumbai’s Bhiwandi city was arrested on Sunday, along with two of his accomplices, Jameer Khan (22) and Kavita (20). The victim, also a resident of Bhiwandi, had filed a complaint with the Police alleging her friend Chand Khan invited her for a trip to Vajreshwari on December 29.
The victim stated that he took her to a lodge instead and raped her. According to the Police, Khan recorded the sexual assault on his phone and threatened the victim he would share the video on social media if she refused to have sexual relations with him. Meanwhile, Jameer Khan and Kavita joined him in his malicious act, thus threatening to make the video go viral.
