Bhopal: The Directorate of Public Institutions (DPI) in Madhya Pradesh said in an order that schools will remain open on the occasion of Janmashtami tomorrow. The order states that cultural activities will be organized for Janmashtami, and no academic operations will take place in schools. This is the first time in the history of Madhya Pradesh that celebrations for Janmashtami are declared for educational institutions.
The order states that the program should feature scholars or lecturers to speak on the life and philosophy of Lord Krishna, followed by other activities. The order reads, “There will be no holiday in schools on Janmashtami rather the festival will be celebrated with pomp and show.” It was also mentioned in the letter that this decision was taken under the chairmanship of CM Mohan Yadav in a meeting held on 7 August 2023. Janmashtami celebrations were declared for the entire Madhya Pradesh on 26 August and events in this regard were also directed to be organized in schools.

Yoga And Other Cultural Programs
Under the order, it is mandatory for the students to be present in school on Janmashtami. The event will feature Yoga as well as other cultural programs in all government and private schools & colleges.
Event Aims To Educate Students
Instructions to keep schools and colleges operating on 26 August have been laid out, along with topics for the said event. The topics should especially include the education, friendship, and life of Lord Krishna.
Special Instructions
According to the order, information about the cultural programs across all the districts of Madhya Pradesh should be updated in Google Sheets and mailed to the State Education Center. The images and videos should be of high quality.
