A tragic incident occurred on Saturday in Garha village, located in Madhya Pradesh’s Chhatarpur district near Bageshwar Dham, where a 7-year-old boy drowned in a swimming pool. The pool, reportedly operating without proper safety measures, has since been sealed by authorities. The victim, Rihansh Kumar Singh, was the son of Ajit Kumar Singh, who runs a local roadside eatery (Dhaba) and resides in the area with his family. The family originally comes from Bihar.
On Saturday, Ajit brought his son to a pool near a railway bridge for a swim. There were no lifeguards and no safety equipment, so a child drowned while swimming. A team rushed him to the district hospital, and doctors said he died when they examined him, as reported by the Free Press Journal.
Authorities from Bamitha were dispatched and reached the area to investigate the incident that occurred. Prateek Rajak, the Tehsildar, and Ashutosh Shrotriya, who is in charge at Bamitha police station, went to the site. They put together a report and closed down the swimming pool.
