Madhya Pradesh: 5-Year-Old Raped By Minor In Neighbourhood

In Madhya Pradesh, a 5-year-old, defenseless girl was raped in a repulsive occurrence. The police reported that a seventeen-year-old minor boy in the Agar Malwa district harassed the girl who lived in his neighborhood.

The officer reported that the incident occurred on Sunday evening in a village within the jurisdiction of the Soyet Kala police station area. Yashwant Rao Gaikwad, the in-charge of Soyet Kala police station, stated that the girl had been playing outside her house when the boy enticed her and took her to his house, where he raped her.

He mentioned that later that night, the girl informed her family members about the incident after experiencing stomach pain. Subsequently, the family lodged a complaint with the police. The officer added that the accused has been absconding since the incident occurred.

Gaikwad confirmed that the medical examination of the girl verified the occurrence of rape. The officer stated that they had filed a case against the minor boy under the IPC and POCSO Act, a law designed to safeguard children from sexual offenses. He mentioned that investigations are underway regarding the incident, and efforts are being made to locate the accused.
