The health department team took samples of chocolate kept in the shop and is currently examining them. Simultaneously, enraged family members are demanding the sealing of the shop. According to the girls’ family members, some of their relatives reside in Ludhiana. They had visited Patiala a few days ago to meet them and purchased chocolates from a local grocery store. Upon returning home, they gave the chocolates to the girls to consume, resulting in the girls immediately starting to vomit blood.

What did the family in Ludhiana say?

The family promptly transported both girls to the hospital, where doctors determined that their health had declined due to consuming spoiled chocolate. Upon inspecting the chocolate wrapper, the family discovered that it had passed its expiry date. Subsequently, they reported the incident to the health department, prompting the department team to visit the shop in Patiala where the chocolate was bought.

Health department officer Vikas Jindal stated that upon receiving information from the police, they arrived at the shop. They are currently examining all the merchandise, noting a significant amount of old stock present. The complainant claims that 90 percent of the items in this shop are outdated.

Let us tell you about a recent incident in Patiala, Punjab, where a 10-year-old girl passed away on her birthday last month. The family alleges that the girl fell ill after consuming the cake she had cut on her birthday, and her body cooled down rapidly. Unfortunately, she passed away before they could rush her to the hospital. The family mentioned that they had ordered the cake online for her birthday celebration. A video of the girl, taken a few hours before her demise, has also circulated widely, showing her in a joyful mood while cutting the cake. The Health Department has fined New India Bakery, the source of the cake, and is pursuing further actions against the bakery.
