According to police reports, the accused, Gajanan from Chinhat, placed an order for an iPhone worth ₹1.5 lakh using the COD payment method. Bharat Kumar, aged 30, went to deliver the phone on September 23 but was allegedly strangled by Gajanan and his friend, Akash.

Investigation and Arrests

When Bharat Kumar didn’t come back, his brother lodged a missing person complaint at the Chinhat police station. Police immediately launched an investigation, reviewing CCTV footage and surveillance data. The investigation led to the arrest of Akash, who later confessed to the crime, implicating both himself and Gajanan in the murder.

The suspects allegedly strangled Bharat and then stuffed his body into a sack, dumping it in the Indira Nagar Canal. The State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) has been called in to help recover the body.

Family’s Plea for Justice

Bharat’s brother, Prem Kumar, has demanded justice for his brother’s death. He expressed his grief and urged the police to ensure that the perpetrators receive severe punishment. “My only demand is that the police should give such a punishment that serves as a lesson to them,” he said.

The police are continuing their investigation into the case, while Bharat Kumar’s family awaits justice for his untimely death.
