Ushering in a new era of quality testing in the herbal medicine sector, researchers at Lucknow-based CSIR-Central Institute of Medicinal and Aromatic Plants (CSIR-CIMAP) have developed an artificial intelligence (AI)-based technology for identifying adulteration and fraud in food items. Led by senior scientist CH Ratnashekhar, the team has developed a method for identifying the chemical composition of medicinal plants such as turmeric, ashwagandha and tulsi using AI and high-resolution mass spectrometry.
This innovation is capable of checking the geographical origin of plants, their variety, part used and adulteration with more than 98% accuracy. This technological achievement is considered an important step towards ensuring the purity of natural medicinal products.
Diwali Will Be Celebrated Without Firecrackers In NCR, Complete Ban Imposed In Eight Districts
With the aim of controlling air pollution on the occasion of Diwali, the Uttar Pradesh government has completely banned firecrackers in eight districts of the NCR region. This ban has been implemented in Meerut, Ghaziabad, Gautam Buddha Nagar, Bulandshahr, Hapur, Baghpat, Shamli and Muzaffarnagar.
The government order has been implemented following the instructions of the Supreme Court. The administration says that this decision was necessary to prevent a huge increase in pollution levels during the festival and to protect the health of the people. Violators of the rules can face up to five years in jail and financial penalty. Officials have emphasized on strict adherence to the rules and public participation.

Political activities have intensified regarding the assembly elections to be held in 2027. BJP’s allies have united and made their presence felt. Leaders of Nishad Party, Subhaspa (SBSP), Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) and Apna Dal (S) came on one platform in the National Conference of Nishad Party held in Delhi.
These leaders called themselves the ‘PDA’ Backward and Dalit Alliance within the NDA and said they would represent communities concerned with social justice. Sanjay Nishad (Nishad Party president), Om Prakash Rajbhar (SBSP), Ashish Patel (Apna Dal (S) vice-president) and Chandan Chauhan (RLD general secretary) were present at the event. Sanjay Nishad, Rajbhar and Patel are also currently ministers in the UP government, which gives a glimpse of their political stature and future strategic conversations.
