Rs. 450 for LPG Cylinder? MP Govt Makes Promises Months Ahead Of Assembly Polls

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister promised that to provide LPG cylinders at a subsidised rate of Rs 450 under two major schemes.

New Delhi: Ahead of Assembly Polls, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister promised that to provide LPG cylinders at a subsidised rate of Rs 450. Those who are registered under the Ujjwala Yojana and Ladli Behna Yojana will be able to benefit from the scheme.

As stated by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government, the sale of LPG cylinders at subsidized rates will start from September 1. The remaining cost of gas cylinders from September 1.

To benefit from the subsidy, gas connection owners must get gas cylinders at market price. The remaining subsidy amount will then be transferred to the gas connection owner’s bank account.

It would be a significant drop considering that average rate for LPG cylinder is Rs 900 in the state. Through the new announcemnt, the state aims to relax the beneficiaries of the two state-run schemes alone.

The order also stated that state subsidies will be adjusted accordingly in case prices continue to fluctuate. Registration for the Ujjwala Yojana scheme can be done on the Ladli Behena Yojana portal.

PM Modi’s Visit To Bina 

The announcement to reduce tax on LPG cylinders was made a day before Prime Minister Modi’s visit to Madhya Pradesh and Chattisgarh. During his visit, Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone for development projects worth over Rs 50,700 crore in Bina.

Besides, he also inaugurated several projects in the railway sector and laid the foundation stone for ‘ICU Block’ in 9 districts of Chhattisgarh and said that the Center has been working towards multi-dimensional development of Chhattisgarh for 9 last year.

Phase I of Chattisgarh Eastern Railway project is being developed under Prime Minister Gati Shakti – National Master Plan for Multimodal Connectivity. It comprises a 124.8 km railway line from Kharsia to Dharamjaygarh, including a branch line to Gare-Pelma and three feeder lines connecting Chhal, Baroud, Durgapur and other coal mines.

Apart from the railway projects, Prime Minister Modi has laid the foundation stone for nine ICU blocks to be constructed under the Pradhan Mantri – Ayushman Bharat Health Infrastructure Mission (PM-ABHIM) at Durg, Kondagaon, Rajnandgaon, Gariaband, Jashpur, Surajpur, Surguja, Bastar and Raigarh District, at a total cost of over ₹210 Crore.
