Just Two days before the upcoming Lok Sabha polls, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee-led Trinamool Congress (TMC) on Wednesday released their manifesto.

Here’s what the TMC promised in its 2024 Lok Sabha election manifesto, aside from repealing the CAA:
- One-year apprenticeships with monthly stipends for graduates and diploma holders up to age 25.
- Student Credit Cards offering up to ₹10 lakh for higher education expenses.
- Tripling higher education scholarships for SCs, STs, and OBC students.
- Increasing the Old Age Pension to ₹1,000 per month (₹12,000 annually) for individuals aged 60 and bove.
- Capping the cost of petrol, diesel, and LPG cylinders for affordability.
- Establishing a ‘Price Stabilisation Fund’ to manage price fluctuations.
- Legally guaranteeing MSP for farmers at a minimum of 50% above the average cost of production.
- Providing 5 kg of free ration per month to every ration card holder.
- Delivering free ration to every beneficiary’s doorstep.
- Offering 10 free LPG cylinders per year to every BPL family, ensuring access to clean cooking fuel.
- Guaranteeing 100 days of work for all job card holders with a minimum wage of ₹400 per day.
- Providing dignified housing for every poor family across the country to ensure safe and secure homes for all.
Upon releasing the manifesto, the TMC declared, “Let’s dethrone the BJP elite and create a dignified life for everyone!”
In its manifesto, the party pledged to repeal the Citizenship (Amendment) Act (CAA) and halt the National Register of Citizens (NRC).

At an election rally earlier today, Mamata accused the BJP of turning the entire country into a “detention camp” and vowed to abolish the CAA and NRC if the opposition bloc INDIA comes to power at the Centre.
The party also outlined several welfare initiatives for the INDIA bloc’s victory in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, including doorstep ration delivery and 10 free cooking cylinders for below-poverty-line (BPL) families.
The general elections are slated to take place into seven phases, while the voting for the first phase will be held on April 19. Notably, the counting of the votes will take place on June 4.
