Addressing a gathering in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, PM Modi emphasized the government’s commitment to combatting corruption over the past decade. He asserted that measures have been implemented to prevent middlemen from exploiting the poor. Modi reiterated his staunch stance against corruption, acknowledging that his efforts have faced opposition from certain quarters. He juxtaposed his mantra of “Bhrashtachar hatao” (eliminate corruption) with the purported agenda of others, whom he accused of seeking to protect corrupt practices. Modi framed the upcoming election as a battle between the NDA, which champions the fight against corruption, and opposing factions purportedly aligned with preserving corrupt elements.
