The Election Commission has officially announced the dates for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. In Bihar elections will be held in 7 phases, the first phase will commence from April 19.
This announcement comes as the current Lok Sabha’s term approaches its conclusion on June 16th. On Saturday, The Election Commission of India (ECI) conducted a press conference in New Delhi and streamed live on various social media platforms including Facebook, YouTube, and X. For the upcoming polls, nearly 97 crore individuals are eligible to exercise their voting rights.

The Election Commission also shared all the information in a document format for people to seek clarification on the dates of polling for their respective Parliamentary Constituencies.
Chief Election Commissioner Mr. Rajiv Kumar promised to conduct free and fair elections. He also talked about the rise of voter categories, especially in women. CEC introduced the home polling facility for people above the age of 85. This time not only the election security but also the comfort of voters is taken into consideration by the EC.

Regional and national parties have already started announcing their candidates for their elections. As of now, the BJP has issued a list comprising a total of 40 candidates for the Lok Sabha elections, while AIMIM has decided to field only 11 candidates.
