In Tamil Nadu, the Congress has announced candidate names for 9 out of 10 total constituencies, including Tirunelveli. The only remaining seat is Mayilaaduthurai.

On Sunday, the Congress unveiled its fifth roster of candidates. Notably, Pratap Singh Khachariyawas replaced Sunil Sharma for the Jaipur seat. This alteration stemmed from objections raised by some party members against Sharma’s nomination, particularly citing his alleged affiliation with the ‘Jaipur Dialogue’, known for its criticism of the Congress on social media. Additionally, the party nominated Murari Lal Meena for Dausa in Rajasthan and Pratibha Suresh Dhanorkar for Chandrapur in Maharashtra.

Preceding this, the party had disclosed its fourth list comprising 46 candidates on Saturday, and its third list containing 57 candidates on Thursday, encompassing various states. The third list encompassed candidates for constituencies in Arunachal Pradesh, Gujarat, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Telangana, West Bengal, and Puducherry. Meanwhile, the fourth list showcased candidates from Assam, Andaman, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Manipur, Mizoram, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, and West Bengal.
