Lok Adalat 2025: Types Of Disputes To Settle

You can settle multiple types of disputes in Lok Adalat. These cases include:

  1. Traffic police challans or notices.
  2. All compoundable challans/notices pending till November 30, 2024.
  3. Criminal compoundable offences.
  4. Cheque dishonour cases under Section 138 of Negotiable Instruments Act.
  5. Money recovery cases.
  6. Motor accident claims cases (MACT).
  7. Labour dispute cases, electricity and water bill cases.
  8. Matrimonial disputes (except divorce).
  9. Land acquisition cases.
  10. Services matters relating to pay allowances and retiral benefits.
  11. Revenue cases (pending in District courts and High Courts only).
  12. Other civil cases.

Who Can Settle Their Traffic Challans?

  • You can settle any pending traffic challans, including those given to commercial vehicles by the Notice Branch or those payable on the Delhi Traffic Police portal until November 30, 2024.
  • Additionally, only challans that can be compounded (settled by paying a reduced fine) will be accepted.
  • Meanwhile, Challans that cannot be paid, like those already sent to Regular, Evening, or Digital Courts, or those already paid or rejected by the court, cannot be settled.
