New Delhi: Chief Minister of Delhi and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) supremo Arvind Kejriwal Sunday left for the Central Bureau of India (CBI) office to appear in the Liquor Policy case.

Following his arrest, Sisodia resigned from his post. He has been in Tihar jail since 26 February as his bail petitions have been rejected several times.
What is the Liquor Policy Scam?
The new Liquor Policy was implemented on November 17, 2021, but was later scrapped by Delhi Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena in July 2022. The LG recommended a CBI inquiry into the alleged irregularities in the policy.
As per Aam Aadmi Party, the new policy was aimed to end the influence of the liquor mafia and black marketing and would increase revenue and consumer experience.
The Delhi government also proposed some relaxations to sellers, such as permits to offer discounts to consumers to boost sales.
The LG scrapped the policy and recommended a CBI probe over the alleged violation of laws in the formulation and implementation of the new liquor excise policy 2021-22.
