Canadian PM Justin Trudeau on Saturday shared a glimpse of his Diwali celebration, in which he was seen greeting Hindu community. He shared a video on his X handle in which he showed bracelets that he received during his visit to Hindu temples in past few months. Earlier, In his Diwali message He called those bracelets which he received during his visit to Hindu temple “lucky” and mentioned that “he is not going to take them off until they fall off”. He was seen celebrating Diwali following the Hindu tradition. Trudeau was seen having interaction with Hindus living in Canada.

This came out amid increasing diplomatic tension between two nations over killing of Sikh separatist Hardeep Singh Nijjar.
Trudeau Promises to Stand With Hindu Community
In his annual Diwali message on Thursday November 1st, Trudeau promised to be with Hindu community amid the diplomatic tension between India and Canada. “Today, Hindu, Sikh, Buddhist and Jain families will celebrate the triumph of light over darkness with festivities, candles, diyas and firework” he wrote on his X handle.
Trudeau lauds the Indo-Canadian community residing within the country. “We will stand with Hindu Canadians to ensure their safety so they can freely practice their religion” he added.
India-Canada Relations
Relations between both the countries have soured following the allegation from top officials of Canada on Union Home Minister of India Amit Shah of having a campaign of “violence and targeting Sikh separatist inside Canada”.
The tension escalated as the Canadian National security and intelligence advisor Drouin and Deputy foreign affairs minister David Morrison told parliamentary committee that they leaked detains of Union Home Minister of India Amit Shah’s role in targeting Sikh to the media.
Indian expressed their disapproval over the remark. And mentioned the remark as “absurd and baseless”.
They presented the diplomatic note in which they mentioned that “Government of India protests in strongest term to the absurd and baseless reference made to Union Home Minister of India before the committee by Deputy Minister David Morrison”.
