New Delhi: Legal Aid Committee, Delhi Metropolitan Education organized a Legal Aid Camp in the Village Dallupura, Mayur Vihar, Delhi on 26th August 2022 in association with the East District Legal Service Authority, New Delhi. The Legal Aid Camp was organised to solicit the people with knowledge about property matters and consumer rights. The event was graced by Advocate Sh. Saurabh Rastogi as representative of East District Legal Services Authority. Sh. Saurabh Rastogi apprised the residents about the “Legal Provisions related to the Transfer of Property”
To make the residents understand the importance of cleanliness and hygiene, a Nukkad Natak was organized that consisted of 4 acts in totality on the theme of cleanliness, disposal of waste, shortage of water and improper drainage system causing ailments. The nukkad natak was a huge success as the villagers enjoyed the act as well as supported our ideas and took part in it with all pomp and show

Advocate Saurabh Rastogi provided the audience the much-needed basic information about provisions of free legal aid and the rights available to the people by Article 21 and Article 39A, 48A, 51A(g) of the Constitution. The mechanisms enlisted in the Legal Service Authority Act were explained along with the hierarchical level of the Legal Services Authorities in India, i.e., the National Legal Services Authority, the State Legal Services Authority, District Legal Services Authority, and the Tehsil Legal Services Authority. He gave a holistic view of the statutory backing of legal aid.
Advocate Saurabh Rastogi further enlightened the people of Village Dallupura about the issues between tenants and the owner under the Transfer of Property Act and explained about the importance of written document between the tenants and the owners.
The response of the audience was very encouraging for faculty members and students of Legal Aid Committee, DME . The residents came up with the legal issues they are facing to which they received satisfactory answer from the advocate as well as the members of Legal Aid Committee, DME. The residents praised the college for the efforts in conducting the program there. Students of were highly responsive and attentive during the entire camp.
