Congress Leader Rahul Gandhi is set to hold a press conference on Thursday, September 18.
The 29-year-old African elephant, Shankar, died at 8.00 PM on September 17 at the National Zoological Park in Delhi.
'Shankar' had been a treasured part of the zoo family for 27 years (came in Nov 1998 from Zimbabwe), was admired by visitors and cherished by staff for his gentle nature and majestic presence: National Zoological Park, New Delhi.

Chamoli cloudburst- A cloudburst hit the Nandanagar area of Chamoli district in Uttarakhand on Wednesday night, leaving seven people missing and six houses buried under debris. Chamoli District Magistrate Sandeep Tiwari stated that significant damage has been caused in the area and that rescue operations are underway. Two people have been rescued successfully, while the search for others continues.
