Cloud seeding in Delhi: The cloud-seeding activity planned for today (29 October 2025) has been put on hold due to insufficient moisture in the clouds. The process is highly dependent on the right atmospheric conditions.
While rainfall could not be triggered yesterday because moisture levels were around 15 to 20%, the trial delivered valuable insights. Monitoring stations set up across Delhi captured real-time changes in particulate matter and moisture levels. The data shows a measurable reduction of 6 to 10 per cent in PM2.5 and PM10 concentrations, indicating that even under limited moisture conditions, cloud seeding can contribute to improved air quality: IIT Kanpur (ANI)

The 23rd round of India-China Corps Commander Level Meeting was held at Chushul-Moldo border meeting point on 25th October 2025. This was the first meeting of the General Level Mechanism in the Western Sector since the 24th round of Special Representatives Talks held on 19 August 2025. The talks were held in a friendly and cordial atmosphere.
The two sides noted the progress since the 22nd round of Corps Commander Level Meeting held in October 2024 and shared the view that peace and tranquility has been maintained in the India-China border areas. Both sides agreed to continue to use existing mechanisms to resolve any ground issues along the border to maintain stability: MEA

Based on specific information, a team of Special Staff under the supervision of ACP/Ops conducted checking in the area of PS New Usmanpur. At about 02:00 AM, the team noticed a person riding a motorcycle without a registration plate near Zero Pushta, close to Bijli Ghar. When signalled to stop for checking, the rider pulled out a pistol, fired at the police team, and attempted to flee. The team immediately warned him and directed him to surrender, but he fired again, aiming at Constable Paramjeet. The bullet struck Paramjeet’s BP jacket, preventing injury. Assessing the situation, the police team retaliated by firing two rounds, one of which hit the accused on his left leg, causing him to fall. He was subsequently overpowered and apprehended. The accused was identified as Imran alias Kala (21 years). A semi-automatic pistol and two live cartridges were recovered from his possession. On verification, the motorcycle he was riding was found to be stolen from the area of PS Jyoti Nagar. He was wanted in a case registered at PS New Usmanpur u/s 309(4) 3(5) BNS. He was previously found involved in a case registered at PS Welcome: Delhi Police (ANI)
