Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini has announced a gift to sugarcane farmers on the occasion of Diwali as the State government increases sugarcane rates. The rate for early varieties has been increased from Rs. 400 per quintal to Rs. 415 per quintal. The rate for late varieties has also increased from Rs. 393 per quintal to Rs. 408 per quintal. The Haryana government has decided to provide farmers with the highest sugarcane rates in the country.

Chandigarh: On the suicide of IPS Y Puran Kumar, the Police have taken possession of the deceased officer’s laptop following court orders. The court had directed that the entire process of handing over and transferring the laptop be recorded to ensure data security. Subsequently, the family handed over the laptop to the police. The court made it clear that the laptop’s data must be preserved and the transfer procedure properly documented. (ANI)

Karnataka: Give separate timings to the RSS and the Bheem Army: High Court. The High Court directed that separate time slots be allotted to both organizations, RSS and Bheem Army. The High Court directed the petitioners to file a fresh petition to the District Collectors along with the route of the march. The hearing has been adjourned to October 24. Petitioners’ consent granted to hold the RSS route march on November 2. A petition was filed in the High Court seeking permission for an RSS route march in Chittapur.
