On flood alert after release of water from Hathnikund Barrage, Delhi CM Rekha Gupta says, "...Three lakh cusecs of water have been released. Our department is prepared. This is due to the excellent desilting in the last six months, due to which whatever blockage we had on the drains, today all the gates of the barrage are open. Today there is no blockage anywhere. Today water is able to flow out. Water will definitely reach the Yamuna flood plains because that is a Yamuna area. Now people have started living there, have started settling down. So, due to this, they will definitely have problems. There is no doubt in this. But water will not reach outside the Yamuna flood plains. I assure the people of Delhi of this thing. They can live without worry. We are completely alert. We are taking reports every hour. The water is currently at the level of 205.6. Last time when there was a flood in 2023, the level was counted as 208.66..."
