New Delhi: Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) patriarch Lalu Prasad Yadav, who has been suffering from kidney ailments and other diseases, will receive a kidney from his second daughter.
The RJD president has been suffering from multiple health problems and will go through a kidney transplant later this month.
The Bihar politician’s Singapore-based daughter will donate a kidney to her father, news agency PTI reported citing a close family member on Thursday.
Rohini Acharya, who is based in Singapore, has “stepped in to give her father a new lease of life”, the family member told the news agency.
Acharya, in a tweet last month, shared photos with her father saying: “This country needs your presence so that the country can fight tyrannical thinking.”

The 74-year-old returned last month from Singapore where he had gone for treatment for his kidney problems.
The former Railway minister is currently in Delhi and is out on bail. He has been jailed for his involvement in fodder cases and has been hospitalised several times in Delhi and Ranchi for treatment.
