He became the fourth member of his family to receive the prestigious award. His grandfather Basant Kumar Birla was awarded the Padma Bhushan award, and his great-grandfather Ghanshyam Das Birla received the Padam Vibhusan. His mother Rajshree Birla was felicitated with the Padam Bhusan award.
He received Padam Bhusan, India’s third-highest civilian award, in the ceremonial function that was held at Rashrapati Bhawan.
Kumar Mangalam Birla heads Aditya Birla Group along with Hindalco industries, Grasim Industries, UltraTech Cement, Aditya Birla Fashion and Retail, and Aditya Birla Capital.
