Kolkata: Calcutta High Court Justice Abhijit Gangopadhyay who is often known for his comments has made to the headlines again. This time, he advised the Kolkata Police and Kolkata Municipal Corporation to hire Yogi’s bulldozer if needed.
The justice was hearing a plea of a woman seeking protection from some goon after she protested illegal construction. Her lawyer informed that she is so insecure to leave her house.
Reacting to which, the justice said bullying will not be tolerated in case of illegal construction. Addressing the lawyer appearing for the Kolkata Municipal Corporation, the justice said lend the bulldozer of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath if needed.
However, he also praised the Kolkata Police and the Municipal Corporation for their prompt action in the case. He directed to also include Kolkata Maniktala police station to the investigatio related to illegal construction.
Appreciating the Gunda Daman branch of Kolkata Police, Justice Gangopadhyay said that the division know how to bring the goons in discipline. He posted the matter to next Friday.

TMC takes dig
However, the ruling party in the state, Trinamool Congress, did not appear to take it light and launched an attack at Justice Gangopadhyay. It is worth noting that the sources close to the justice told India Today that the remark was made in good humor and nothing was recorded.
Ghosh accused the justice to be alligned with Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) since the CPI (M) is nowhere to found in the state. However, he mentioned, Gangopadhyay has no faith in the saffron party existing in West Bengal. Ghosh took names of state chief Sukanta Majumder and LoP Suvendu Adhikari.
The TMC leader asserted th Yogi’s bulldozer led to the violence and killings of women and Dalits. He accused that the justice is ‘blindly and genetically anti-TMC. Sometimes BJP. Sometimes CPI (M).
