A search operation by the security forces is currently underway in Kishtwar district of Jammu and Kashmir. This operation is conducted a day after a Army jawan was killed during encounter here.
The search operation is conducted to catch the terrorists at Saranwan area of Kishtwar district. Reinforcement are being sent to the site as the situation here is tense.
On Sunday, an Army jawan, Naib Subedar Rakesh Kumar was killed during an encounter with terrorists in the Kishtwar district.
General officer Commanding of the White Knight Corp and all ranks posted on his X handle, saying, “Sub Rakesh was part of a joint CT (counter-insurgency) operation launched in the general area of Bhart Ridge area of Kishtwar district on November 9, 2024. We stand with the bereaved family in this hour of grief”.

According to the Jammu and Kashmir police, the gunfight erupted in the Keshwan area in Kishtwar district on November 10, with three to four terrorist trapped in the area.

Former Punjab CM Amarinder Singh paid tribute to the army jawan, Naib Subedar Rakesh Kumar, who lost his life during an encounter with terrorists.
In the post shared by Amarinder Singh he honoured the Army jawan and prayed for the recovery of jawans who got injured during gunfight with the terrorists.
