Good News: Siyaya Cheetah has given birth to 4 cubs on Wednesday in Kuno National Park, Madhya Pradesh. Siyaya and her cubs have been kept under the supervision of doctors. It is being told that the female cheetah Siyaya and her four cubs are completely healthy. Union Forest Minister Bhupendra Yadav has given information about this by tweeting.

Eight cheetahs, including Siyaya, were brought from Namibia to the Kuno National Park in Sheopur, Madhya Pradesh under a special project. Prime Minister Narendra Modi had released 8 cheetahs in Kuno National Park on his birthday on September 17 last year. One of these was the female cheetah Siyaya, who has now given birth to four cubs.

Union Minister tweets with wishes

Union Forest Minister Bhupendra Yadav took to Twitter on Wednesday to write, “Congratulations! A momentous event in our wildlife conservation history during Amrit Kaal! I am delighted to share that four cubs have been born to one of the cheetahs translocated to India on 17th September 2022, under the visionary leadership of PM Shri @narendramodi ji.”

The Union Forest Minister said that I congratulate the entire team of Project Cheetah for their tireless efforts to bring back cheetahs to India and their efforts to rectify an ecological mistake committed in the past.

Female cheetah Sasha died 2 days ago

Two days ago, the female cheetah Sasha present in Kuno had died due to kidney infection. The number of cheetahs had increased to 19 after Sasha’s death but now after giving birth to four cubs of Asha, the number of cheetahs in Kuno National Park has increased to 23. Let us inform that the second batch of cheetahs was brought from South Africa to Kuno National Park on 18 February 2023. These included seven males and five females.
