Khalistani terrorist Arsh Dalla, a key figure in the Khalistan Tiger Force (KTF), was arrested by Canadian authorities in a significant breakthrough for law enforcement according to sources reported by India Today. Earlier in the day, Punjab Police also apprehended two of Dalla’s associates, who are accused of involvement in the murder of a Sikh activist. Dalla’s arrest is seen as a major success in the ongoing efforts to combat terrorism and criminal activities linked to Khalistani elements

Arsh Dalla’s Criminal Background and Arrest Details

Arsh Dalla, the acting chief of the KTF, has long been a wanted criminal by Indian security agencies. He is believed to have been living in Canada with his wife for the past several years. The arrest follows Dalla’s suspected involvement in an armed confrontation that occurred in Milton, Ontario, around October 27-28. According to reports, Indian intelligence agencies received confirmation of his arrest from Canadian authorities, and Canadian law enforcement, particularly the Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS), is actively investigating the recent shootout in which Dalla may have been involved.

Dalla’s Role in Terrorist Activities and Criminal Networks

Indian security agencies have long tracked Dalla for his role in orchestrating terrorist and criminal activities in Punjab. He is accused of multiple terrorist killings and has been implicated in a range of violent incidents in the region. Notably, in September 2023, Dalla claimed responsibility for the murder of Congress leader Baljinder Singh Balli in Punjab’s Moga district. In his statement, Dalla alleged that Balli had ruined his life and forced him into the criminal underworld, while also blaming the leader for his mother’s police custody, which fueled his desire for revenge.

Dalla is believed to have been running his operations from Canada, with reports indicating that he has been directing terror activities in Punjab for the past three to four years. His involvement in several high-profile cases has made him a prime target for Indian agencies. The National Investigation Agency (NIA) had placed him on its most-wanted terrorist list due to his role in orchestrating violent acts.

Punjab Police’s Ongoing Operations Against Dalla’s Network

Punjab Police have made significant strides in dismantling Dalla’s criminal network, having arrested several of his close aides in recent months. During these operations, police recovered large quantities of explosives, including IEDs, hand grenades, and other arms and ammunition. These busts have disrupted Dalla’s operations in Punjab, but his continued influence over criminal activities in the region remains a concern for law enforcement.

As developments unfold, Indian authorities are closely monitoring Dalla’s case and working in coordination with Canadian officials to gather more details and pursue further legal actions. His arrest marks a key step in addressing the Khalistani terrorism issue and disrupting the cross-border activities of militants operating from foreign bases.
