Kerala IB Officer Suicide: Accused’s Telegram Chat Reveals He Asked Her To Die So ‘He Could…’

Police said the retrieved chats indicated that the accused was pushing her to end her life. When the woman said she wanted to commit suicide, he reportedly asked her "when she was planning to do it".

Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala: A disturbing development has come to light in the alleged suicide case of an immigration Bureau (IB) officer at Kerala’s Thiruvananthapuram airport. According to reports, the police have recovered a Telegram chat that the young woman had with Sukanth Suresh, an ex-IB officer, accused in the case. He was accused of raping the deceased and abetting her suicide.

According to the New Indian Express, the chats revealed that the accused asked her to die by suicide so that he could remarry. Police recovered their conversation from the phone that was earlier taken into custody by the Police. The mobile was found in a building where Sukanth was hiding after his name emerged in the sensational suicide case.

Police said the retrieved chats indicated that the accused was pushing her to end her life. When the woman said she wanted to commit suicide, he reportedly asked her “when she was planning to do it”. To this, she said, “August 9.” On the other hand, the reports added that after the victim killed herself by jumping in front of a moving train, her phone was completely destroyed.

This made it difficult for the Police to retrieve the data. Hence, Sukanth’s mobile phone is treated as a crucial piece of evidence in the ongoing investigations. The Police further added that the accused exploited her by all means, physically and financially, which forced her to take the extreme step. Efforts are underway to track him after he went into hiding. Police were barred from booking him as the High Court heard his anticipatory bail plea. The verdict on the bail plea is expected to be delivered on Monday.
