Kochi: The the Kerala High Court on Monday will consider petitions challenging the Kerala Governor Arif Mohammad Khan’s direction to Vice Chancellors of 9 Universities to tender their resignations.
Citing sources news agency UNI earlier reported that Justice Devan Ramachandran will hold a special sitting at 4 pm.
Governor Arif Muhammad Khan, who is also the Chancellor, demanded the resignation of the Vice Chancellors of 9 universities in Kerala by at 11.30 am on October 24.
“Letters directing Vice Chancellors of 9 Universities of Kerala to tender their resignation by 11:30 am on 24 October 2022 have been issued. Letter also emailed to VCs and Registrars of varsities concerned,” said PRO, Kerala Raj Bhavan.
This comes after the Supreme Court on October 21 had cancelled the appointment of M.S. Rajasree as Vice-Chancellor of the APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University in Kerala which sent shockwaves to the Pinarayi Vijayan government.
Earlier on Sunday, the Left Front has announced to carry out a movement against the Kerala Governor for trying to destroy secular education.
