Kerala CM Vijayan accuses Guv of acting as "RSS tool"

Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan Monday hit back at Governor Arif Mohammad Khan who have asked 9 Vice Chancellors to resign on Sunday. The CM accused him of being a “RSS-tool.”

The Kerala Chief Minister has levelled charges against Arif Khan of violating powers in his capacity as the Governor as well as Chancellor of state universities.

He said, “Governor is misusing Chancellor post to exercise more powers than he holds. It’s undemocratic and an encroachment on VCs’ powers. Governor post is not to move against government but to uphold constitution’s dignity. He’s acting as a tool of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS).”

The Chief Minister and his Left Front party have been accusing the Governor of advocating RSS in the state several times. In the latest, the CPI-M state claimed Arif Khan had called himself a RSS sympathiser.

As reported earlier, the Governor on Sunday issued notices to vice-chancellors of a total number of nine universities to tender their resignation by October 24 while upholding the verdict of the Supreme Court.

Earlier on Sunday, the Left Front has announced to carry out a movement against the Kerala Governor for trying to destroy secular education.
