In a tragic student, a class 10 student succumbed to injuries while undergoing treatment at the Medical College Hospital in Kohikode. The boy was injured in a clash between students in Thamarassery of Kerala on Wednesday. Thamarassery Police registered a case based on his father's complaint. According to hospital authorities, he was undergoing treatment for internal bleeding in his head and died on Saturday around 12.30 am.
Thamarassery police stated that the incident took place after a clash broke out in connection with a farewell programme of Class 10 students held at a tuition centre.

What Led To Tragic Death?
Reportedly, during a dance performance at the tuition centre some students of Thamarassery Government Vocational Higher Secondary School shouted and made fun of students from MJ High School. After the farewell incident last Sunday, students of different schools put up posts on Instagram and gathered in town. Muhammed Shahabas, the deceased, was with the students of his school when clash broke out. He was injured in the clash and admitted in hospital.

He was initially treated for minor injuries, but his health deteriorated after returning home. Shahabas was then admitted to hospital where he remained unconscious until his death.
State government has also initiated action into the case. Kerala Education Minister V. Sivankutty ordered a departmental enquiry. Following this, the Director of Public Education has directed a detailed departmental inquiry.
