New Delhi: In a case related sexual violence against women, a five-year-old girl was raped, brutally assaulted and later strangulated to death in Kerala’s Kochi. Her body was found mutilated behind a local market.

The police on Saturday informed that the minor was subjected to sexual abuse before she was killed finally while referring to an autopsy report. They said the dead body was dumped in a sack in a marshy area behind the market in the nearby Aluva.

Further informing about the case, the police said they received a complain at 7.10 PM that followed the registration of an FIR in the missing case of the girl. Upon examining the CCTV camera, the girl was seen with a migrant worker. The police immediately apprehended the accused who were in inebriated but the minor was not with him.

Tried to mislead Police 

Since the accused was in inebriated condition, the police found it difficult to get information out of him on Friday itself. The police officials said that he confessed the crime in the morning eventually after trying to mislead the police with wrong statements when he gained consiousness.

However, the police also investigated the locals who pointed out that they saw the girl in the nearby area of the market. The spot where the body was found is isolated and often used to dump waste there.

Mostly people like the accused in this case go there for drinking alcohol and consuming drugs.

Used Garbage to Cover Dead Body  

As per the information, the accused used garbage and sack to cover body of the minor after allegedly committing the assault.

The minor belonged to a Bihar family whose parents migrated to Kerala for labour work. The accused who brutally assaulted the minor and killed her also used to live in the same building as the minor’s family.
