Kashmir: In a distressing incident last night, several residential structures and two cowsheds were ravaged by a fire in the Zachaldara area of Handwara, located in the northern Kupwara district of Kashmir. According to a report by news agency KS, the blaze erupted late in the night, causing extensive damage to seven residential houses.

The affected properties belonged to Ghulam Mohammad Malik, Ghulam Nabi Malik, Ali Mohammad Malik (sons of Kamal Malik), Abdul Salam Sheikh (son of Gaffar Sheikh), Mohammad Abdulla Malik (son of Aziz Malik), Bashir Ahmad Sheikh, Nazir Ahmad Sheikh (sons of Jamal Sheikh), all residents of Yangerhard Wader Zachaldara. Alongside the houses, two cowsheds were also engulfed by the flames.
Firefighting efforts were promptly initiated, and fire tenders managed to bring the blaze under control. However, the exact cause of the fire is yet to be determined, as confirmed by an official statement. The incident has left the community in shock and the affected families grappling with significant loss.
