New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi Thursday unveiled the statue of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose near India Gate. The PM also paid floral tributes to Bose.
PMO on its Twitter handle wrote, “A historic programme begins soon… PM Narendra Modi will inaugurate ‘Kartavya Path’ and unveil the statue of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose at India Gate.”
PM Modi will inaugurate revamped Central Vista. Here, he will also inaugurate ‘before and after of Kartavya Path’.

As part of the ‘Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav’ to celebrate the 75th independence day, a new Central Vista was constructed and the name of Rajpath was changed to Kartavya Marg. It is being seen as an attempt to eradicate another symbol of slavery.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi took the ‘Panch Pran’ from the ramparts of the Red Fort on August 15, in which the complete abandonment of the slavery mentality is the second vow. During the last eight years, traces of slavery were eradicated from wherever this government looked.
