Karnataka: A 34-year-old Karnataka yoga teacher managed to escape death after being abducted, stripped, and molested by her kidnappers, who later buried her alive. The incident reportedly occurred on October 23, near Devanahalli, when the captors took the woman to a remote forest and inflicted severe abuse on her.
The victim was abducted by five people, including a woman named Bindu, who was suspicious of the victim’s relationship with her husband.
Why Was She Targeted?
According to TOI reports, Bindu had hired a private detective named Satish Reddy to investigate the matter. The detective tricked the victim into accompanying him for a rifle-shooting session on October 23 after befriending her. Once she got into his car, three more men and a juvenile joined her. They took her to a forest, about 30 km from Devanahalli, reports said.

The Victim Uses Her Yoga Training To Defie Death
Upon arriving at the forest, the kidnappers stripped, molested, and attempted to strangle her with a cable. During this terrifying ordeal, the woman used her yoga training (breathing techniques) to feign death. Her captors, assuming she was dead, buried her in a shallow pit and fled, reports stated.
Surviving And Escaping
While she was still conscious, the victim used her presence of mind and yoga techniques to free herself from the shallow grave and reach the government hospital in Sidlaghatta, Chikkaballapur, the following day.
Police Arrests Six People
The police have arrested a total of six people involved in the crime, including Bindu, Satish Reddy, and four others – Ramana (34), Nagendra Reddy (35), Ravichandra (27), and a juvenile.
