A shocking incident of gang-rape has come to light from Mandya district of Karnataka. An eight-year-old girl was allegedly gang-raped by three men on premises of a government school. The incident took place on Friday, January 31. The assault came to notice when the girl experienced severe stomach pain and bleeding. She later confined in her mother about the incident. The complaint was filed at the central police station in Mandya on Sunday.
The police informed that the girl has been admitted to the Mandya District Institute of Medical Sciences (MIMS) hospital. She is undergoing treatment and will be counselled on Monday, informed the police.
What Did The Police Say?
Hindustan Times quoted Mandya superintendent of police (SP) Mallikarjun Baladandi who said that a FIR has been registered against three unidentified men under relevant sections of the BNS and POCSO Act. SP quoted girl’s statement who revealed that three unknown men had lured her from a playground, near her home. They lured her by offering chocolates and took her to the government school premises. They gang-raped the girl there. However, police confirmed that the girl was not the student of the school, where incident took place.
The girl further told that she had been threatened by men to not disclose the incident to anyone.
Police said that they are investigating the case and reviewing the CCTV footage from the school premises.
