In Karnataka’s Belagavi, a woman faced horrifying brutality when the family of a girl, who had eloped with her son, stormed into their home on Sunday night. The incident, which involved stripping the woman naked, tying her to a pole, and physically assaulting her, garnered swift reactions from Chief Minister Siddaramiah and Home Minister G Parameshwara.
According to the police, the girl’s family reacted violently upon learning about their daughter’s elopement with the woman’s son. They forcefully dragged the woman out, stripped her, tied her to a pole, and assaulted her.
Expressing his dismay, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah condemned the incident, vowing strict action against the perpetrators, stating, “Our government is unwavering. Regardless of the offense, stringent actions will be taken against those involved in such crimes.” He emphasized that such inhumane acts won’t be tolerated.

Meanwhile, Home Minister G Parameshwara confirmed the arrest of seven individuals directly involved in the crime. He assured that justice would prevail, mentioning his upcoming visit to the victim undergoing treatment in a local hospital.
Describing the events, the Minister highlighted the violent escalation following the elopement, stating, “The girl’s family attacked the man’s home, brutally mistreated the mother, and left her injured. Prompt police intervention rescued the victim, and she’s currently receiving medical attention.”
