Karnataka: Man Beaten to Death After Being Tied to Pole Over Extramarital Affair Allegation

As per the FIR lodged at Chintaki police station, the police received an alert that a man had been tied to a pole and brutally assaulted in the village. A video of the incident went viral on social media.

In a shocking incident, a man was allegedly beaten to death over suspicion of an extramarital affair in Karnataka’s Bidar district.

According to a report published by NDTV, the man was assaulted by the family members of the woman after being tied to a pole. The victim was identified as Vishnu, a native of Maharashtra’s Gaunagaon village in Nanded district. The accused men, Ashok and Gajanan, have been arrested.

The police rushed to the spot and took him to Chintaki Government Hospital, but he was later referred to Bidar’s BRIMS Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.

In the police complaint, Vishnu’s mother said that her son was in a relationship with the woman, who is married and has children.

She mentioned in the FIR that the woman had left her husband to live with Vishnu, but three months ago she returned to her mother’s home in Naganapalli.

Vishnu had gone to meet the woman in Naganapalli, but he was confronted by the woman’s father, Ashok, and brother, Gajanan. They dragged him before a temple and started beating him with sticks.

In the video clip, the victim can be heard crying for help.
