In a shocking incident, a 21-year-old man was arrested for allegedly forcing her minor sister into physical relationship and impregnating her in Karnataka’s Koppal district.
According to a report published by NDTV, the police said that the matter came to light after the victim delivered a baby at a district government hospital. The girl was admitted to hospital with severe back pain and delivered a baby on the same night.
While narrating her ordeal to the hospital authorities, the victim said her brother forced her to have a physical relationship on the promise of marriage and he would take care of her, despite her concerns over society stigma.
The minor victim said that the man had threatened her to end his life if she speaks to anyone on the issue.
After receiving the statements from the victim, police have registered a case against the man under sections of BNS and Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
Police said the accused was sent to judicial custody.
