Karnataka High Court directs EC to take decision over AAP’s national party status by April 13
Bengaluru: The Karnataka High Court directed the Election Commission to decide the national Party status of the Aam Aadmi Party by April 13.
Justice M Nagaprasanna observed that it was the accountability of the Election Commission to independently assess the representation and take a decision.
The High Court asked the Election Body to take a final decision by April 13 and dispose of the petition.
Earlier the Aam Adami party moved to Karnataka high court for recognition as a national party.

The Aam Aadmi Party is recognised as a state party in Delhi, Goa, Punjab and Gujarat. The Aam Aadmi stated that it has secured six per cent of votes in four different states and is eligible for recognition as a national party.
The Aam Aadmi Party have their government in Delhi and Punjab and elected representatives in Gujarat and Goa.
