The chairperson of the Karnataka State Women’s Commission, in a letter sent on July 14, mentioned a person who claimed in court that he had buried hundreds of bodies in the Dharmasthala area. The commission has taken cognizance of the statement of the family of a medical student and the reports of human skulls being found in the area, taking it seriously.

The statements of the person mentioned serious crimes like murder, rape, disappearance of women and girl students, and unnatural deaths. Due to this, the Commission had recommended the formation of an SIT for a fair and comprehensive investigation under the leadership of senior officials.
