Karnataka Election: ‘BJP to release candidate list on April 8’; says CM Basavaraj Bommai
Bengaluru: Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai on Tuesday said that the Bhartiya Janta party will release the first list of candidates on April 8.
The parliamentary board of BJP would finalise the list of candidates for the upcoming Karnataka Assembly election. the selection of the candidates has been done based on winnability, said Bommai.
Karnataka will go to Assembly Polls on May 10 and the result would come on May 13.
The election commission of India (EC) announced the schedule of the Karnataka Assembly Elections. The meeting was organised in the Plenary Hall of Vigyan Bhavan, New Delhi. There are 224 Assembly seats in Karnataka. The election in Karnataka will be held on May 10 and the result will be declared on May 13. (Karnataka Assembly Elections 2023)

Both the BJP and the Congress parties have started giving the final touch to the preparations for the Karnataka Assembly elections.
The Congress announced the names of 124 candidates on 25 March. Former Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah will contest from Varuna, while Karnataka Congress President DK Shivakumar will contest from the Kanakapura constituency.
