Karnataka CM suspense: The discussions over Karnataka CM is still continuing and the senior party members are conducting a series of meetings to select the right person for the Karnataka chief minister. According to the sources, UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi is scheduled to reach Delhi on Wednesday from Himachal Pradesh. It is also expected that she will meet party leaders who are the part of decision-making process in Karnataka.
Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge has met Siddaramaiah and DK Shivakumar, the chief contenders for the post of CM, separately on Tuesday. Now Kharge will seek advice from UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi and former party president Rahul Gandhi. Sources say that the new Chief Minister of Karnataka may be announced in Bengaluru by this evening.
On Tuesday, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge held a meeting with DK Shivakumar and Siddaramaiah, both the probable candidates for Chief Minister of Karnataka, in New Delhi. Siddaramaiah arrived at Kharge’s residence accompanied by his son Yatindra and MLAs Jameer Ahmed, Bhairati Suresh and senior leader KJ George.
Karnataka Congress President DK Shivakumar reached Delhi on Tuesday. Earlier he claimed that he would not resort to backstabbing or blackmail regardless of the party’s decision. If the party wants, it can give me the responsibility. I do not want to divide anyone here. Whether they like me or not, I am a responsible man. I will not backstab. I will not blackmail.
