Karnataka Assembly Polls: Prime Minister Narendra Modi Sunday said Congress called me “poisnous snake” but the snake is the garland of Lord Shiva and my Shiva is the public.
Addressing a public rally in Kolar district of Karnataka, the Prime Minister said, “In the midst of these works of development, the Congress has again opened the box of abusing me. These Congress people sometimes want to dig my grave, sometimes they call me a snake, a snake is the garland of Lord Shiva and my Shiva is you i.e. Janata Janardan (public).”

The PM’s remarks came in a response to Congress chief Mallikarjun Kharge who earlier said “Prime minister Narendra Modi is like a poisonous snake… beware it will lead to your death.”
Kharge was also campaigning for the Karnataka Assembly Polls at Ron in Gadag district in the state when he made the statement. The Congress chief’s statement followed arguments from both the major parties, thriving to win the state Assembly Polls scheduled on May 10.
In one such comment, BJP MLA Basanagouda Patil Yatnal Friday allegedly called Congress former president Sonia Gandhi a “Visha kanya” (venomous woman).
“Is Sonia Gandhi a venomous woman? She worked with China and Pakistan as their agent,” said the BJP MLA while addressing a public rally.
